Zia Lucia prepares for Good Friday opening

London-based indendent pizzeria Zia Lucia is opening in Stoke Newington tomorrow (15 April).

Bringing its four dough varieties to a new part of the capital, the Church Street site will be the brand's eighth venue, with another launch planned for South Quay later this summer. To mark tomorrow's opening, the restaurant will be offering 50% off pizza from the 21-27 April.

The brand is known for its selection of 48-hour, slow-fermented doughts, including traditional white flour, wholemeal, gluten-free and vegetable charcoal black base. Since its inception in Islington in 2016, Zia Lucia has continued to experiment with various dough varieties. Keeping the tradition of launching a brand-new dough with each opening, the Stoke Newington restaurant will feature a unique orange-tinted, carrot-based dough.

The 60-cover site offers Zia Lucia's pizzas with fresh Italian toppings, such as the Arianna Sbagliata and Andrea Pirlo, available on all four types of dough. Toppings include fiery nduja, spicy spianata salami, truffle sauce, honey, burrata, rich blue cheese gorgonzola and roasted pepperoni, while seasonal specials will also be offered.

To drink, Italian wines, spritzes, Prosecco and cocktails will be available alongside Zia Lucia’s very own unfiltered lager (4.6%), Birra Cabriolè.

On the launch, founders Claudio Vescovo and Gianluca D'Angelo, comment: "As a location, Stoke Newington was a true priority for us and a place close to our hearts. After opening in Balham last December, we are excited to venture towards East London and bring our four different doughs to this neighbourhood."
