Burger & Beyond collaborates on 'Anti-Veganuary' menu

Burger & Beyond is set to defy the Veganuary movement – the campaign that sees participants give up the consumption of animal products throughout January – launching an exclusive meaty menu in collaboration with chef and butcher Richard Turner.

Throughout the month, the restaurant will remove all vegan options from its menu, replacing them with dishes like rump fillet steak with bone marrow and onion, ham egg and chips and thick-cut maple bacon. Available for dine-in only, with reservations available across all sites (Shoreditch, Soho and Borough Yards), the partnership aims to spotlight UK butchers and farmers and support them throughout Veganuary, when trade is likely to slow.

Turner, known for his involvement in brands such as Hawksmoor and Blacklock, and more recently recognised as half of London butcher Turner & George, will source the pork and beef for the collaborative menu. He says of the partnership: "I've been a huge fan of Burger & Beyond for some time now. I love their ethos and their commitment to making epic burgers, so collaborating on this menu seemed like a natural fit.

"I believe we should be eating the highest quality meat we can afford," he adds. "As a butcher, it goes without saying that I think Veganuary is an unhelpful message! If you want to eat less meat then just buy less, but better quality. Support your local butcher!"
