New F&B signings at The Yards Covent Garden

The Yards, Covent Garden, has announced two new F&B signings.

Ukiyo is set to make its restaurant debut, bringing its temaki and sashimi concept to a 1,636sq ft space at 8 Slingsby Place. The brand's minimal, sophisticated menu will launch this summer, focusing on Japanese hand rolls and East Asian-inspired mixology, giving customers a no cutlery-needed eating experience. Ukiyo, which translates to 'living in the moment, detached from the brothers of life', refers to the urban lifestyle of the Japanese Edo-period.

Also signed to the venue is Buns From Home, scheduled to open next month – the first in central London for the independent brand. The 220sq ft site will offer the bakery's signature cinnamon and cardamom croissant buns, alongside dessert buns and savoury options.

The signings follow the recent UK debut of Milan-born restaurant chain, Miscusi, and the first West End site for Burmese restaurant, Lahpet

On behalf of Longmartin Properties Ltd – a joint venture between Shaftesbury and the Mercers' Company, which manages The Yards, Covent Garden – Simon Taylor, property director at the Mercers’ Company, comments: "Through our continued investment in the area, The Yards has become a distinctive destination to explore within Covent Garden and the curated line-up of brands is a huge draw to the location. Strengthening The Yards’ position as an F&B go-to area within central London and following the success of established concepts such as Arôme and Dishoom, these two new F&B brands are exciting newcomers, each bringing their own unique twist to the area."
