Miscusi launching second London restaurant

Pasta-centred restaurant brand Miscusi is preparing to open its second London site, expanding its estate just seven months after launching its debut London venue. The brand-new site will open its doors on Upper Street, Islington, in early June 2022.

Miscusi joined the city's dining scene in December, with its flagship Covent Garden venue marking the start of the Italian brand's global evolution. The site has since gone from strength-to-strength, even amid the challenges of the pandemic.

The Islington branch is set to serve up more than pasta, also offering a 40sq ft terrace, as well as a basement with a karaoke machine and photo booth. The restaurant will bring Milan's bustling atmosphere and Mediterranean flaours to North East London.

Menu highlights include some of the brand's most popular pasta plates, including the Pacchero Tricolore, a pistachio cream, authentic burrata and tomato sauce; and Cacio, Pepe and shrimp tartare with Sicilian red shrimps. Diners will be encouraged to customise their pasta dish, choosing from an abundance of fresh, seasonal produce. Guests can create their own signature dishes, with plates starting from £9.50.

The launch of the second site will reinforce the brand’s sustainable mission and status as the UK’s second B Corp restaurant. All dishes are low in carbon emissions, and the M loyalty scheme rewards customers for choosing the four pasta plates that have the lowest carbon footprint.

"For us, pasta is happiness, an easy way of bringing people together over a simple bowl of food, whether you're sharing a meal with family, friends or even co-workers," says Alberto Cartasegna, founder and CEO of Miscusi.

"We can't wait to welcome our North London neighbours into the family, and we're bringing everything with us; our signature dishes, our Italian staff and even our karaoke machine! Islington's Upper Street boasts some of the best places to eat in London, so it was the perfect place for our next adventure."
