Homeslice goes plant-based

Homeslice, the pizza concept developed by Alan and Mark Wogan, has opened its first fully plant-based site in Shoreditch.

The menu offers six different pizzas along with sauces, drinks and desserts. The launch follows a record-breaking period for the brand's plant-based options at its existing sites (Neal's Yard, Marylebone, Shoreditch and The City). Orders of the vegan 'nduja tenderstem broccoli, chilli and garlic oil; and mushroom, ricotta, pumpkin seeds, chilli and soy truffle glaze have risen by 25% since launching in 2019, with nearly 1,500 more plant-based pizzas ordered by customers in 2020 than 2019. All 20" dough bases are made in-house daily and aged for a minimum of 24 hours.

Other pizza options include the Italian sausage, spinach, sun-dried tomato and pangratatto; the meatball marinara; the Bolognese with red onion and rosemary; and the cauliflower banh mi. The 135-cover restaurant, located on Old Street, is open from 12pm–11pm Monday to Sunday.
