Stansted Airport welcomes Comptoir Libanais

Compoir Group has opened a new branch of Comptoir Libanais at London Stansted Airport, a venue launched in alongside franchise partner HMSHost International. The restaurant is located at the Airside Terminal Building in the main Departure Lounge.

The venue stands as the group's first UK airport opening, as well as the first collaborative opening with HMSHost since the pandemic.

The group has reported that trading has increased with the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, claiming they are optimistic about the bounce back of hospitality and travel in the coming months. Trading for the first half of the year is expected to reflect another record financial performance for the group.

Comptoir Group continues to work with HMSHost International, with four other Comptoir Libanais restaurants in the UK and internationally, including at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, Designer Outlet Ashford, Utrecht Stadskamer in the Netherlands and Dubai Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

Comptoir Libanais Doha, Qatar, is scheduled to open later this year. The Comptoir Group have worked closely with the HMS Host team to deliver the same Comptoir Libanais experience in the UK airport.

The Comptoir Libanais menu is made of recipes true to its Middle Eastern heritage. Breakfast, an important meal in Middle Eastern culture, includes dishes such as Shakshuka – made with slow cooked tomatoes, red onions and peppers mixed with parsley, coriander and garlic, topped with a fried egg and crumbled feta and served with pitta. The Comptoir Signature breakfast is similar to a full English with a signature Lebanese twist. The all-day menu mirrors the brand's high street restaurants, including a variety of dishes from a selection of hot and cold mezze.

The food is available to eat in or to takeaway for onward travel. Takeaway food is part and parcel of Middle Eastern culture, so Comptoir Libanais offers this service to its airport travellers at London Stansted.

Tony Kitous, founder of Comptoir Libanais, comments: "I'm truly excited about our colourful and welcoming design we have achieved at London Stansted Airport. Over 150 artisans and craftsmen from Morocco, Turkey and Lebanon were involved in this new magical space which truly feels a wonferfully warm and inviting space to enjoy true Middle Eastern hospitality."
