Jack 'O' Bryan's to take over former Frankie & Benny's
Jack 'O' Bryan's has announced plans to take over the former Frankie & Benny's site located next to the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry.
The 180-seater restaurant, which has been empty since 2020, is due to be transformed, subject to successful planning and licensing approval. The building will be fitted out to accommodate The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack – a new dining concept from family-run hospitality group Jack 'O' Bryan's. It will stand as the group's second venue, joining the namesake Jack 'O' Bryan's in Dunfermline.
The new eatery will have a laid-back, nautical vibe and feature an open kitchen. Inspired by the exclusive New York State seafood destination The Hamptons, it will offer high-end fish and chips and showcase a diverse range of fish, crab and lobster.
The shack is expected to open in the spring of 2025, creating over 60 jobs across both back- and front-of-house.
"Having deliberated over this space for around a year since we became aware of its availability, we are extremely excited to finally announce that our new concept, The Crab & Lobster Fish Shack, is coming to South Queensferry," says Jack 'O' Bryan's founder and owner Bryan Coghill.
"We think that this part of South Queensferry, with its fantastic infrastructure and surrounded by hundreds of new homes, is simply perfect and has huge potential.
"Treating quality fish and seafood with the utmost respect to come up with the most delicious dishes is very fortunate and signature for us. So it is a natural synergy for us to open an elevated fish and chip restaurant."
