Mollie's appoints new managing director

Mollie’s has appointed Matt Bell as its new managing director. With over two decades of leadership and operational expertise in hospitality, Bell joins as the brand looks to continue its ambitious growth journey.

Bell has previously served as chief hotel operating officer at citizenM, prior to which he held roles including operations director at The Hospital Club and general manager at Seaham Hall Hotel & Serenity Spa.

The new MD succeeds Darren Sweetland, who led the business for the past four years. Sweetland has now transitioned to the role of CFO for the UK, Europe and Asia at Soho House. Mollie’s will maintain its relationship with Soho House as the group prepares to launch its first city centre site in Manchester later this year.

"I am delighted to join Mollie's, a brand I have admired since its inception," says Bell. "It perfectly embodies my passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences through genuine connections and fostering a culture of sustainability and innovation.

"This year will see the opening of the first city centre Mollie's as part of the redevelopment of the Old Granada Studios in Manchester, an exciting time in the evolution of the Mollie's brand. I look forward to bringing my experience and expertise to build on the amazing work the team has already accomplished, and support Mollie's in reaching its ambitious goals."
