Martin Williams to be CEO of rebranded D&D

Former Rare Restaurants CEO Martin Williams has been announced as the new CEO of D&D London, ahead of the group's official rebrand to The Evolv Collection in April.

Williams left his previous position, which saw him head up a restaurant portfolio including the likes of Gaucho and M, in October, after seven years in the role. He will officially join The Evolv Collection at the end of March.

Taking over from former co-founder and CEO David Loewi, who stepped down from D&D in November following a 30-year tenure, Williams will now head up an estate that includes Coq d'Argent, Bluebird, German Gymnasium, Quaglino's and the Michelin-starred Angler.

"I am delighted to be joining such an amazing group of restaurants, many of which have a phenomenal legacy, which played no small part in my falling in love with the hospitality sector," says Williams.

"I now look forward to taking stewardship of the company as it enters a new chapter of growth under the new Evolv Collection branding."

The news comes after the London-based corporation – which operates 20 venues in London, Manchester and Birmingham, along with several overseas – was sold to investment firm Calveton and Break Capital in 2023, in a deal worth almost £60m.
