Parisian residency series launches at Levan
Four of the French capital’s most revered independent restaurants will bring an extra serving of joie de vivre to Peckham in the coming weeks, as Levan and Bar Levan introduces its new residency series – Paris à Londres.
Running on one Sunday per month from April to July, the south London restaurant and wine bar will welcome a host of its favourite informal dining spots fresh from the French capital, each of which will lead a lunch service at the restaurant, followed by an after-party at Bar Levan.
The lineup includes Minibar (27 April), La Verre Volé (18 May), Buttes Snack Bar (15 June) and Les Oeillets (20 July).
Levan and Bar Levan co-owners Mark Gurney and Matt Bushnell’s love for Paris is no secret. Bar Levan, a homage to the city’s natural wine bar scene, and Levan – inspired by the European bistronomy movement – were imagined following many R&D trips to indulge in its cave à mangers, cosy bistros and shrines to natural wine.

The series will begin with each resident team taking over Levan for a full lunch service from 12pm to 4pm, offering a selection of signature dishes and a list of accompanying wines.
A handful of Levan dishes from head chef Philip Limpl and wines by the glass will also be available. From 6pm, the faire la fête will relocate to Bar Levan for more wine, music and snacks. Here, the guest sommelier will be given their chance to shine, with each bringing out a few of their favourite bottles as served back home. Guests are invited to enjoy the offering at both venues, but can choose to book in for lunch only or just come by for the after-party.
