The Newman Hotel announces new F&B appointments
The Newman – the first venture from London-based hospitality management company Kinsfolk & Co – has announced the appointment of Christian Turner (pictured left) as executive chef and Eder Neto (pictured right) as head of food and drink of the hotel’s F&B venues, All Day Brasserie and Basement Bar, alongside its private dining rooms and room services. The duo join the hotel's opening team, preparing for the launch in late summer.
The new recruits
Hailing from Australia, Turner has spent over two decades honing his craft in renowned kitchens across the globe. After early roles in Adelaide, Turner moved to the UK where he joined Corbin & King Restaurants in 2011. His tenure saw him undertake leadership roles at The Wolseley, Colbert and The Beaumont Hotel, before being appointed head chef at The Delaunay.
Most recently, Turner spearheaded the 2023 launch of Manzi's in Soho. As part of The Newman’s opening team, he will oversee All Day Brasserie, serving a menu of classics with Northern European influences, as well as a succinct menu of bar snacks to accompany the cocktail list at Basement Bar.
With over two decades of experience, Neto began his career as food and beverage manager at Yauatcha in 2009. He then oversaw beverage operations for the Hakkasan Group across the UK and Europe, including the launch of the Ling Ling brand, before joining The Standard London’s pre-opening team as beverage director in 2018. This role saw Neto develop and execute a multi-venue drinks programme, laying the foundation for a transition to group beverage director at Nammos Group, where he oversaw its international expansion.
As head of food and drink at The Newman, Neto will shape every aspect of the guest experience, from concept and design to operations of the restaurant and bar.
All Day Brasserie will be a contemporary, all-day dining venue delivering the energy of a bustling neighbourhood institution. It will seat 76 covers within a spacious dining room full of natural light, with a street-side alfresco terrace for the warmer months. The Basement Bar will reside underneath the restaurant. There will also be a dynamic events programme featuring in-house DJs and regular chess nights.
