New executive chef joins London Hilton on Park Lane

London Hilton on Park Lane has announced the appointment of Nicolas Smalberger as its new executive head chef.

With over three decades of experience and a career that spans the globe, Smalberger's new role will see him lead the hotel's entire culinary operations at venues including Revery Bar and Park Corner Brasserie, as well as room service and event catering.

The hotel is known for hosting high-profile events, with its Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 1,250 guests.

A colourful career

Smalberger's career has taken him to five continents – including South Africa, New York, India and China – with his culinary style reflecting a fusion of global influences.

He has played a pivotal role in numerous high-profile hotel openings, serving as executive chef at The Palace of the Lost City, The Table Bay Hotel and The Royal Livingstone in Zambia. Notably, he also oversaw international culinary teams during South Africa's hosting of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In his new position, the chef aims to reimagine classic dishes with a bold, modern flair. "I'm excited to join such a prestigious establishment and to bring my passion for diverse culinary traditions to London Hilton on Park Lane," he says.

"I aim to create an environment where my team feels valued and inspired, recognising that a happy and motivated team is essential to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. By fostering this balance, I ensure that both our guests and team members are at the heart of everything we do."
