Sticks'n'Sushi to open in Glasgow

Danish restaurant group Sticks'n'Sushi will open its first Scottish restaurant in Glasgow this November. The launch will bring the brand's total portfolio to 31 restaurants in Denmark, the UK and Germany, with further planned for early next year.

Located on George Square, the new restaurant includes a 177-cover dining room and bar. Interiors will draw on Japanese architectural principles while incorporating Scandinavian design sensibilities.

A Japanese feast

The menu will feature Sticks'n'Sushi's signature blend of sharing dishes, sticks, sushi and sashimi offered à la carte or as set menus. Popular dishes include Beef Tataki, beef fillet with miso aioli, truffle ponzu and artichoke crisps; and Temaki Setto, DIY sushi rolls with lobster, wagyu tartare and avocado.

From the grill, highlights include Gindara No Miso, miso-glazed black cod; Aigamo Tsukune, grilled duck with egg yolk in soy; and Ramu Niku, lamb with garlic butter, spring onion and soy sesame.

Behind the bar, the drink selection spans sake, Japanese teas, cocktails, premium spirits and beer – including Sticks'n'Sushi's own label.

Group CEO Andreas Karlsson comments: "We are delighted to be bringing Sticks'n'Sushi to Scotland – and what better place for us to begin our northern adventure than Glasgow. As we continue to look to grow both in the UK and across Europe, we look forward to welcoming the local community, both as guests and new members of our team. Being able to grow and create jobs is a huge privilege and plays a large part of our current strategy, with several exciting developments in the pipeline, both nationwide and internationally."
