Café François announces Market Bar takeover series

This summer, Café François will invite 'copains' (friends) to take over the Market Bar as part of a new guest series.

Featuring several popular London venues – Three Sheets, Rita's and Crispin, as well as the newly opened Fortune Fried Chicken and It's Bagels – Café François will welcome guests for evenings of food, drinks and music.

Founder François O'Neill comments: "We cannot wait to welcome good friends who are behind some of our favourite places to eat in the city to the Market Bar at Cafè François. We want to bring people together around the bar, mixing elements of French and British culture together, with great food and drink and music to top it off."

Operations head Ed Wyand and executive chef Matt Ryle have been hard at work planning the events. Diners can expect special dishes to appear on the bar menu, paired with carefully crafted drinks, each devised to a theme specially chosen by the guest.

The line-up

Proceedings kicked off with the cocktail bar Three Sheets on 18 July, with cult Soho favourite Rita's following suit on 31 July, taking over for a night of tacos and Palomas.

Spitalfields' Fortune Fried Chicken will serve up Thai-style fried chicken burgers with a Gallic twist, accompanied by Negronis, on 7 August.

The team from Crispin will then take to the kitchen on 21 August, bringing low-intervention wines and seasonal small plates.

It's Bagels will follow for a closing night party on 12 September, serving bagels inspired by French classics and regional wines. A live DJ will take to the decks at Market Bar every Thursday and Friday night.
