The OWO welcomes Cafè Ciel

The OWO has announced the arrival of all-day dining destination Café Ciel, with the concept launching a residency at its courtyard location on Whitehall.

Café Ciel’s residency marks The OWO’s third independent restaurant, joining the contemporary Milanese Paper Moon and chef Endo Kazutoshi's rooftop restaurant, Kioku by Endo. The OWO is also home to Raffles London at The OWO hotel, encompassing five restaurants and two bars.

At the helm of Café Ciel are co-founders Vedika Hinduja and Shaheen Peerbhai. After training at Le Cordon Bleu and Ecole Ducasse in Paris, head chef Peerbhai has honed her craft in Mumbai, Paris and London, in kitchens ranging from terroir-driven bistros to Michelin-starred establishments.

Daytime menu highlights include brunch favourites as well as a seasonal selection of tartines, from summer tomato with garlic, feta and za’atar, to creamy honey with sea salt, olive oil, cottage cheese and caramelised walnuts.

Seasonal evening menus will change regularly, featuring a selection of tapas-inspired small plates and larger plates. Highlights include mushroom croquettes with black garlic mayo; aubergine chips with hot honey and mint; and Chanterelle mushrooms on toast.

A selection of larger plate pasta dishes includes lemon ricotta ravioli with sweetcorn, red chilli, hazelnut and brown butter breadcrumbs; summer tomato linguine with Gordal olives, rocket and oregano; and creamy green risotto with courgette, spinach and Parmesan cheese. Seasonal desserts celebrate British classics, with highlights including homemade ice cream, Eton mess and fruit crumble.

Signature cocktails served include a Ciel Spritz with Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, elderflower, Perrier-Jouët Champagne and mint, and a Ciel Paloma featuring Codigo 1530 Blanco Tequila, turmeric berry and Fever-Tree Pink Grapefruit Soda. A draught beer tap is also available.
