Oui Madame brings parisian dining to East London
A new Parisian-inspired restaurant has joined the dining scene on St Paul's Road in North London.
Oui Madame is the latest venture from Martin Lange, the man behind Salut!. The kitchen is led by Canadian-born chef Jacob Buckley, who took charge at Salut! from 2022 to 2025 after shaping his craft at kitchens across Canada and London.
Dining at Oui Madame
Snacks include tomato and fennel focaccia and whipped basil butter, savoury choux with a comté cream filling and wakame aroma, and sardine bruschetta with grated tomato and micro herbs.
Small plates follow, featuring signatures such as beef tartare with gochujang, nashi pear, sesame oil, pine nuts and sushi rice, and the chicken heart skewer with a gochujang glaze, served with a red pepper cheese sauce. The vegan potato gnocchi with sage-fennel sauce and grilled fennel forms part of the plant-based offering.
Large plates include green potato gnocchi with corn espuma, toasted hazelnuts and crispy sage, ox cheek with burnt kale, pomme purée, breadcrumbs and jus, and seafood orzotto with octopus, mussels, clams, smoked yoghurt and herbs.
Sides, such as écrasé potatoes with gremolata and umami mayo, and courgette salad with aubergine dressing, tahini and pine nuts, are also available. Desserts include chocolate crèmeux with passion fruit granita and chilli tuile, while the wine list is extensive and never static.
Open Tuesday to Saturday, the restaurant first takes shape inside Sawyer & Grey with a one-year commitment and plans to make it a permanent site. "We want this to feel like a creative residency," says Lange. "Yes, it's a pop-up, but everything, from the sourcing to the training, is delivered with the rigour of a flagship."
