Trio of new concepts coming to Liverpool ONE

Landsec has announced 13,600 sq ft of new food and beverage additions to Liverpool ONE, as four independent operators sign at the retail and entertainment destination.

Joining the shopping complex – and brand-new to the city – is Brewski, Jerk Junction and Ice, while local brand Madre will launch a new sister venue on site.

Opening in November, Brewski will make its city debut on Liverpool ONE's Leisure Terrace, taking on a 4,700 sq ft unit alongside Wagamama and Smoke & Dough. Specialising in North American comfort food, the restaurant will feature a rotating menu and offer over 200 covers.

Taking on a 4,100 sq ft unit on Paradise Street, Jerk Junction will add to the international dining options available at the complex. Serving a menu of Caribbean street food, including traditional curried goat and jerk-loaded fries, Jerk Junction will accommodate up to 50 guests.

Iced has also opened on the Leisure Terrace. Created by the team behind Coffee Bean, it serves iced matcha lattes, coolers, lemonades, smoothies and the brand's viral Pink Choc Matcha.

Then there is Madre, which will bring its take to Mexican cuisine to a 4,400 sq ft site on Hanover Street this winter. Salon Madre will host a tequila-led pool hall, taqueria and bar. It will offer frozen, classic and flavoured margaritas, Mexican street eats, three pool tables, three dart boards and several private party spaces.

Independent interest

As Liverpool ONE experiences an 8.5% increase in year-to-date F&B sales, the concepts add to the mix of national names and local favourites located at the destination.

The operators have committed to Liverpool ONE at a time of growing consumer demand for independent operators. A recent CACI survey found that 11% of consumers have increased spending at independent restaurants in the last 12 months, rising to 14% in the North West. Outside of London, it is the region most likely to see an increase in independents, with the capital at 15% and the North West at 14%, while the rest of the UK combined stands at 10%.

Rob Deacon, director of asset management at Liverpool ONE, comments: "A strong dining offer is fundamental to any successful mixed-use destination, and we are delivering a unique line-up that both responds to demand and keeps guests returning time and time again. Liverpool ONE has experienced an 8.5% increase in year-to-date F&B sales, and with four more independent brands set to make their mark, that growth is set to continue."
