New French bistro arrives in Islington

Located at 63–69 Canonbury Road, in a space formerly known as The Smokehouse, Bistro Sablé will open its doors to the public on 3 November.

The latest addition to the Noble Inns collection of restaurants and pubs, the 65-seater neighbourhood spot focuses on classic French bistro cooking.

Guests enter the bar on arrival, where a handful of tables, chairs and bar stools create a space to enjoy an aperitif.

The dining area is demarcated by simple white tablecloths framed with bistro-style chairs, intermixed with banquette seating, while an open kitchen lines the back of the restaurant space.

Dining at Bistro Sablé

The menu offers a range of French classics, with the restaurant embracing 'Les Rosbifs' on Sundays, where guests can choose from pork, lamb, beef or chicken with all the trimmings.

The wine list has been curated by former Mere sommelier Alex Froslet, centring on bold reds, refreshing whites and rosé in varying measures. Champagne, house cocktails and craft beers are also offered.
