Orrery targets star with three-month refurbishment
Orrery, the French restaurant on Marylebone High Street, will close for three months from January 2026 to undergo an extensive refurbishment.
The closure of the Evolv Collection venue is taking place with a vision from the owners to regain its Michelin star, an accolade last achieved under the leadership of chef Chris Galvin in 2000.
The transformation will include the appointment of a new executive chef, details of which will be revealed in the new year.
"This is an exciting new chapter for Orrery," says Martin Williams, CEO of The Evolv Collection. "After years of delivering exceptional French dining in one of London's most beautiful restaurant spaces, we're ready to write the next chapter. Our ambition is clear: to return Orrery to Michelin-starred status while preserving the elegant charm and warm hospitality that our guests love."
What's the plan?
The refurbishment will enhance Orrery's Conran-designed interiors while honouring the restaurant's namesake, the orrery, a mechanical model of the solar system that shows the relative positions and movements of planets and moons.
The rooftop terrace and private dining room will continue to feature in the reimagined space, offering guests the same views above Marylebone High Street.
For loyal guests and first-time visitors alike, the coming weeks represent the final opportunity to experience Orrery in its current form.
The restaurant will continue to serve its classic French menu until the end of December.
