Sticks’n’Sushi brings back key people director

Karl Jolly has returned to Sticks’n’Sushi to become its chief people officer, after three years away from the restaurant brand.

Jolly rejoins the 30-strong Danish restaurant group following positions at catering supplier Nisbets and bar/restaurant operator New World Trading Company.

He has also worked with some of the UK’s most recognisable hospitality and retail brands including TGI Fridays, Pret A Manager, Mitchells & Butlers and Welcome Break.

"It’s an exciting time to be rejoining the Sticks’n’Sushi family," he says. "I look forward to developing our people, attracting new talent and further strengthening our culture and leadership team as the brand expands."

People, people, people

In his chief people officer role, Jolly will support over 1,400 Sticks’n’Sushi team members in the UK and mainland Europe, working closely with CEO Andreas Karlsson in developing strategies that focus on low employee turnover and high stability, while focusing on daily operations and people leadership.

"I am delighted to announce that Karl Jolly is back with us as chief people officer at Sticks’n’Sushi," adds Karlsson. "He will be instrumental in supporting us in developing our teams, building strong leadership as we enter new markets."

Founded in a Copenhagen in 1994 by half-Danish, half-Japanese brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek and Thor Andersen, Sticks’n’Sushi has grown to include 12 restaurants in and around the Danish capital, three in Berlin, Germany, and 15 in the UK.

New UK openings are set for Glasgow (December) and Manchester (spring 2026).
