Galvins reveal 'fine dining bandit' footage

The Galvin brothers have released CCTV footage of a London thief, who they believe is targeting fine dining restaurants.

Following extensive coverage and social media content that shows a woman stealing langoustines from Phil Howard and Rebecca Mascarenhas' Elystan Street, the Galvins highlighted that a similar theft took place at their Michelin-starred Galvin La Chapelle two weeks earlier.

On 4 November, a woman appears to have stolen £800 worth of meat from a delivery outside Galvin La Chapelle, using an almost identical method to the Chelsea theft now making headlines.

Chris Galvin, who runs Galvin Restaurants with his brother Jeff, posted a video of the theft on his Instagram account.

“It’s devastating to see this happening in the run-up to Christmas, the busiest and most crucial period for the hospitality industry," says Chris. "The produce taken from us wasn’t everyday groceries - it was high-quality, premium meat, and for Elystan Street it was langoustines! These are items that simply don’t end up in someone’s home kitchen, which raises serious concerns that this theft may be feeding into other restaurants.

"As an industry already under immense pressure, it’s disheartening to face targeted behaviour like this, but we hope shining a light on it helps protect other venues from becoming victims."
