Vincenzo's pizza arrives on Bethnal Green Road
Bushey pizza restaurant Vincenzo’s has arrived in London, opening its doors on Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch.
Founded in the Hertfordshire town by Tom Vincent in 2022, Vincenzo’s is known for its crispy, thin-crust whole pies.
While the Bushey original became known for its whole pizzas, the new site is dedicated to serving by the slice. Slices start at £5, with classics like Margherita, Tomato and Pepperoni sitting alongside new flavours such as Spanakopita, Vodka Sauce and Burrata.
“Pizza is simple: dough, sauce and cheese, but the slice shop is about more than that,” says Vincent. “It’s the smell, the art, the queue, the first bite. Shoreditch will carry the same nostalgia as Watford, but in a space that feels bigger, bolder and built for London. We’re not chasing hype, we’re creating something timeless. A slice shop London can call its own.”
The detail
Customers can customise their order with indulgent extras, including hot honey, burrata and fresh pesto. Each slice is cut from a 20” pie, while whole 16” pizzas will also be available for takeaway soon.
Dough is made using flour from Molino Casillo in Puglia, the sauce from San Marzano tomatoes and cheese supplied by Latteria Sorrentina, an Italian producer.
The owner says the Shoreditch shop channels the feel of New York slice bars with an "East London edge". A traditional Victorian shopfront opens onto a characterful interior with nods to both Italian delis and mid-century design.
The focus is on grab-and-go slices, but there are some seats available for those who prefer to eat in.
On Bethnal Green Road, Vincenzo's joins former National Pizza Awards champions Bad Boy Pizza Society, which opened its first bricks and mortar site there not long after they won the annual competition.
