Gott’s Bar & Kitchen opens at Leeds Met
Gott's Bar & Kitchen has opened in Leeds as part of the relaunch of The Met Hotel.
Originally opened in 1899, the Grade II-listed Met Hotel building has been through a substantial refurbishment, with its distinctive terracotta façade and Victorian detailing have been lovingly preserved, while the interiors have been completely reimagined.
The unveiling of the refurbishment also marks the debut of Gott’s Bar & Kitchen, The Met’s brand-new restaurant and bar, a central part of the hotel’s transformation.
The owners say this contemporary dining space champions locally sourced produce and bold Yorkshire flavours, offering a modern take on regional cuisine within a setting that mirrors the building’s refined elegance.
Guests and locals alike can look forward to signature dishes such as The Met Steak & Onion Pie, Grilled Salmon with seaweed beurre blanc, and Korean Miso Cauliflower, complemented by a curated drinks list.
With its open, welcoming design and emphasis on provenance and creativity, Gott’s Bar & Kitchen positions The Met not just as a place to stay, but as one of Leeds’ most exciting new destinations to dine, drink and gather.
"The Met Hotel Leeds has always been a special place for the city - a meeting point, a celebration space and a landmark in its own right," says general manager Mike Liddle. "Our vision was to honour its legacy while creating something truly inspiring for today’s guests. The result is a hotel that feels timeless yet completely renewed and a place where history meets modern hospitality."
