Couple to launch Greek restaurant Maza in Mayfair

Restaurateurs Adrien Carré and Christina Mouratoglou, the husband-and-wife team behind Mazi and Suzi Tros, are to open their first venture outside Notting Hill this spring.

Maza, a Greek restaurant that is inspired by Athenian tavernas, will open in March 2026 on Mayfair's Bruton Place off Berkley Square.

Translating to 'everyday bread' in ancient Greece, the duo say Maza channels the spirit of a 1980s Athenian taverna, offering London diners a warm, convivial experience steeped in nostalgia.

The menu reflects Mouratoglou's vision of classic Athenian cuisine, shaped by family recipes and the team’s travels to Greece.

Signature dishes range from homemade breads baked in the wood-fired oven and the group’s tarama, to handmade pasta with sea urchin, chicken jus and truffle, and honey-roasted tomatoes with goat cheese and thyme oil.

There is also lamb shoulder from the spit, grilled beef livers wrapped in lamb offal, and crispy pork belly gyros served tableside with little pittas, tzatziki and all the sides for guests to assemble their own wraps.

Other dishes include steak tartare with sundried tomatoes, basil and graviera cheese ice cream, and Grandmama’s disco fries topped with shredded veal kokkinisto.

Designed by David Archer, whose past projects include the Chiltern Firehouse and The Peninsula, Maza accommodates 90 guests across counter seating, tables and bar spaces.

Carré has curated the world’s largest exclusively Greek wine list, featuring over 150 wines.
