Clove Club to host spring archive sale
The Clove Club, the two-Michelin-starred restaurant from Isaac McHale, is set to open its doors to the public for a one-day 'spring archive sale'.
On Sunday 24 May, from 11am to 3pm, the Shoreditch Town Hall restaurant will step outside its usual format, offering a glimpse into the Michelin dining experience beyond service.
Curated by McHale and The Clove Club team, the Bank Holiday archive sale will mark the first of its kind since opening in 2013, offering visitors an opportunity to browse and take home a 'piece of history' from the dining room, kitchen and cellar.
The collection has been accumulated over more than a decade of service, with original serviceware items available exclusively at the sale. Items available for purchase on the day will include a collection of crockery, tableware, glassware and bespoke Japanese ceramics, alongside handmade stoneware, Japanese lacquerware and one-off samples, alongside works from studios and makers, including Owen Wall, Rebecca Proctor, Royal Crown Derby and John Jenkins.
Wines and vintages
Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase wines and special vintages from the restaurant’s cellar, choosing from around 60 producers, with both single bottles and multiples available on a first-come, first-served basis.
These producers have shaped The Clove Club’s wine programme over the years, with bottles sourced through longstanding relationships with sommeliers and winemakers from around the world. Highlights will include Domaine François Raveneau, Jean-Louis Chave, Domaine de Trévallon, Jérôme Prévost, Guillaume Selosse, Pierre Péters, Arnaud Ente, Domaine Roulot, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Kongsgaard, JJ Prüm, Domaine Labet, Egly-Ouriet, Sadie Family Wines, Prieuré Roch and Sassicaia 2015.
Bottles will range from £75 to £500, with limited quantities available, while crockery items will start from £10.
Throughout the afternoon, glasses of Champagne will be available for purchase for those browsing, alongside pots of ice cream to take away from The Clove Club kitchen.
