National Breakfast and Brunch Awards return

After a six-year hiatus, the National Breakfast and Brunch Awards is back, brought to the industry by the team behind the National Burger Awards, National Pizza Awards and other industry events.

The competition is open to chefs across the out-of-home sector, from cafés and coffee shops to QSRs, food-to-go operators, pubs, restaurants and contract caterers.

Sixteen finalists will earn their place at the live final on Tuesday 23 February by submitting their signature recipe via the entry website. They will then make their way to Big Penny Social in London, where they’ll go head-to-head across four challenging rounds.

The rounds include: the Signature Round, where finalists will cook the dish that secured their spot in the competition. Then comes the Technical Round, putting chefs’ creativity and adaptability to the test with ingredients supplied by sponsors. Then it’s the Omelette Challenge, sponsored by E&G Sales, followed by the Brunch at Speed Challenge, sponsored by MerryChef.

“The breakfast and brunch industry is booming,” says Tamsyn Halm, editor of Quick Serve Magazine, which heads up the competition. "From bottomless brunches to baps on the go and breakfast at your desk, the industry has the morning meal covered on all bases. We cannot wait to see who enters and what they serve up.”

Think you’ve got what it takes? Entries are now open for a limited time and close on Friday 6 November.
