Carmelina's to open at The Webster Covent Garden
New Italian all-day dining restaurant Carmelina's will open this autumn at hotel The Webster Covent Garden.
The site, founded by hospitality trio Daniele Pampagnin, Jake Mason and Carmela Pia, will bring together a restaurant, all-day café, terrace and hidden cocktail bar.
The ground-floor, 100-cover restaurant features an open kitchen, counter dining and a wine bar. Upstairs, Carmelina's Al Banco offers an all-day café-bar inspired by the neighbourhood bars of Milan.
Downstairs is Carla's List, a late-night cocktail bar led by bar manager Peppe Corallo.
Leading the culinary offering is co-founder Pampagnin, who has worked at hospitality brands including Nobu and Soho House.
At Carmelina's, the menu is overseen on site by head chef Simone Serafini, focusing on fresh handmade pasta, seasonal produce and seafood, complemented by classic cocktails and a curated wine list. Signature dishes include Deep Red Sicilian Prawns and Porchetta with Friarielli, while a daily breakfast menu features as Eggs Royale, Focaccia Scrambled Eggs and Diavola Shakshuka.
"It’s about that Italian way of life, where you come in for one thing and somehow you’re still there six hours later," says Mason. "A coffee becomes lunch, lunch rolls into aperitivo. It’s generous food, warm service and real hospitality. The kind of place you never feel in a hurry to leave."
