Spring Street Pizza to open NY Italian bar

Spring Street Pizza, the New York-inspired pizza restaurant from chef Tom Kemble, will open a New York Italian bar in Borough this October.

Expanding its existing restaurant into the neighbouring railway arch beneath the tracks, the 2,500 sq ft bar will focus on martinis, aperitivo and
Italian-American bar plates.

Kemble opened Spring Street Pizza in April 2025. A broader cocktail list, Italian wines and beers will complete the drinks menu.

While the original restaurant remains home to Spring St. Pizza’s signature 18-inch pizzas, the bar will serve a menu of Italian-American-inspired bar
plates made for sharing and pairing with drinks, covering crudo, fritti and Kemble's take on Italian-American classics.

The bar at Spring Street Pizza will open in October and occupy Arch 32-33 at Southwark Quarter, with space for up to 200 guests, including lounge seating and a long central bar, plus additional outdoor seating.

"Spring Street Pizza has always been about more than pizza," says Kemble. "We’ve always been drawn to New York’s Italian-American neighbourhood restaurants and bars, places where you can drop in for a drink, stay for something to eat and where there’s a real sense of generosity and familiarity.

"The new bar gives us a chance to explore more of that culture beyond pizza, with a bigger drinks programme and a completely new food menu. We care a lot about the ingredients we use and how we cook, and I’ve brought some of what I learnt in fine dining into a much more relaxed, approachable setting. It feels like a natural next step for Spring Street Pizza, the same spirit, but with more to explore."
