Solis owners to open debut restaurant
The owners of South American concept Solis are set to open their first standalone restaurant.
Ana Gonçalves and Zijun Meng first launched Solis, which specialises in grilled chicken and steak, at Arcade Battersea Power Station in 2023.
Now, the duo are set to open the first standalone Solis restaurant in Soho on Tuesday 20 October.
Opening on Kingly Street, Solis Soho will become the new flagship home for the restaurant. Gonçalves and Meng are also behind TĀ TĀ Eatery, the pop-up project that blends Portuguese and Chinese cuisines with "everything in between".
More on the menu
While the Soho's restaurant's signature grilled chicken, steak and South American flavours remain at its heart, the larger standalone site will offer expanded food and drink menus, with a new line-up of dishes, cocktails and wines.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Solis to Soho and to make our home on such an iconic street," say the couple. "Our first standalone restaurant gives us the opportunity to expand the menu, be more creative and show another side of the brand.
"We’re especially grateful to our brilliant team, who live and breathe the Solis culture and consistently deliver great food and warm service. We can’t wait to become part of the neighbourhood and share what makes Solis so special with Soho.”
Alongside Solis favourites such as the grilled half chicken infused with the restaurant's signature smoked Aji-Aji chili oil, and flat iron steak with Solis steak sauce (served by the jug), will be an expanded grill offering of larger cuts designed for sharing, including a Chateaubriand served with steak sauce, chimichurri and aji picante.
There will also be a rotating menu of blackboard specials showcasing exceptional butcher’s cuts. All grill dishes are served with spiced fries and an asador salad of sliced tomatoes and onions dressed with oil and oregano.
