99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant heads to the UK

International restaurant brand 99 Sushi Bar & Restaurant is set to make its UK debut this November, opening a flagship site at 22 Park Lane in Mayfair.

Founded in Madrid in 2005 by brothers Fernando and Pedro de León, the brand has built a portfolio spanning Madrid, Barcelona, Marbella, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Monaco, Rabat and Budapest. It offers contemporary Japanese gastronomy.

The Mayfair restaurant will bring the group’s approach to Japanese dining to London for the first time, combining traditional Japanese techniques with European influences inspired by the founders’ travels.

The menu will place a particular emphasis on produce, including Atlantic fatty bluefin tuna, alongside an extensive sushi and contemporary Japanese offering.

The restaurant will feature several spaces, including a 60-cover dining room, 19-seat Cabaret Bar and four-seat Sushi Counter, accommodating up to 85 seated guests and 185 guests for cocktail receptions.

Led by group CEO Jaime Castañeda, the business continues to expand its global footprint, with the recent opening of 99 Sushi Bar at The St. Regis Budapest and a forthcoming opening in Doha.
