Refurbished A.Wong to reopen on 10 October
Andrew Wong has announced that his eponymous London restaurant A. Wong will reopen this month.
The restaurant closed is August for a complete refurbishment across back- and front-of-house, but will reopen on the 10 October with a new look, new kitchen and new menu.
A new Collections of China menu, which celebrates the classical textures, flavours and tastes revered there, will be part of the relaunch.
It's also inspired by his Wong's research in Beijing and Shanghai. It will focus on traditional cooking in its purest form and how the cuisine has evolved in contemporary leading kitchens across the country, allowing for greater creative and personal expression.
His à la carte dim sum lunch will remain.
New dishes will feature stuffed sea cucumber with prawns and Cantonese crispy pork skin; whole pickled chilli steamed turbot; ‘milk less’ white fish broth; pineapple and beef candied floss; chilled sweet potato noodles with red sugar and Jujube syrup; century egg with pickled ginger and chilli chutney; and whole shredded baby chicken salad with rehydrated bean curd sticks.
In 2017, A.Wong was awarded its first Michelin star, with a second in January 2021, a milestone in global Chinese gastronomy as the first restaurant outside Asia to have garnered this accolade.
