Zia Lucia coming to Canary Wharf

Independent, London-based pizzeria Zia Lucia is bringing its Italian fare and specialist dough menu to a new Canary Wharf location this month.

Founders Gianluca D'Angelo and Claudio Vescovo are launching their eighth site, this time in London's financial district, on Tuesday 25 October. To celebrate the launch, the brand is offering 50% off pizzas from 1–7 November.

Located on the ground floor of one of the district's skyscrapers, guests will be able to choose from Zia Lucia's 48-hour slow fermented pizzas. The award-winning roster if doughs includes traditional white flour, wholemeal, vegetable charcoal and the gluten-free base. The menu will also feature brand favourites such as the Arianna Sbagliata with mozzarella, fresh Italian sausage, gorgonzola, honey and truffle oil. A selection of authentic Italian starters – including the burrata from Puglia – salads and homemade desserts will also be offered.

The brand has even created a brand-new dough to mark the new opening. The matcha-based dough is loaded with antioxidants and has a number of additional health benefits.

Unique to the Canary Wharf outpost is a custom bar inspired by 1980s Italian design. The cocktail menu will include classics such as the Negroni, Hugo and Campari Spritz, as well as specially selected wine and Prosecco from Italian producers.

Guests can expect a bespoke Canary Wharf cocktail list to launch later thus year, specifically designed to complement each of the four signature doughs.

Having both come from finanical backgrounds, D'Angelo and Vescovo are pleased to be bringing their concept to the area. Vescovo comments: "Coming from the financial sectors, we have lots of friends, clients and colleagues working and living in the area, and for many years they have asked us to bring Zia Lucia to the neighbourhood. We had been searching for the right venue for at least two years before we fell in love with this location and its unique water-facing position."
