Tortilla launches 70% plant-based menu for Veganuary

Real California burrito and taco joint Tortilla has launched a new vegan chipotle mayo to accompany it’s largely plant-based menu for Veganuary 2023.

The brand has also launched a loyalty club campaign called Twenty-Twenty-Free, which will see close to 1m free plant-based rewards gifted to loyalty club members over the four weeks of January.

The new vegan chipotle mayo and weekly loyalty rewards will be available at 60+ participating Tortilla restaurants nationwide.

Made from premium vegan mayonnaise infused with smokey chipotle and a dash of lime, the vegan chipotle mayo pairs with Tortilla’s signature vegan chilli no carne, made with Club Cultured organic tempeh, wrapped in a burrito, naked burrito or tres tacos, and topped with fresh hand-smashed guacamole.

Tortilla's head of food, Martyn Clover, comments: "We pride ourselves on having an option for everyone and a sour cream or cheese alternative is the one thing our vegan customers ask for most. We’re excited to be giving it to them this Veganuary and beyond!"

Tortilla’s menu is accredited by the Vegan and Vegetarian Society and the brand is a proud supporter of Veganuary UK.

Toni Vernelli, the Veganuary campaign's international head of communications, comments: "We’re thrilled that Tortilla is launching a vegan chipotle mayo this January. While most past Veganuary participants tell us that eating vegan was actually much easier than they expected, 20% of participants still find eating out a challenge. So this news will make it even easier for people who want to help the planet to try vegan this January."

More than 70% of Tortilla’s toppings and fillings are vegan-friendly, with the brand offering a fully customisable menu to suit the full scope of dietary needs.
