Britvic appoints new marketing director

Britvic has announced the appointment of Munnawar Chishty as its new marketing directo. The appointment follows Bruce Dallas moving to a new role as commercial growth director.

Chishty will join Britvic later this year from Walgreen Boots Alliance, where she is vice president and global category director of beauty, and leads the global portfolio of beauty brands No7, Soap & Glory and Liz Earle. She also leads the incubator team responsible for digital consumer experience transformation, the multi-million-dollar revenue gifting team and local marketing teams across the globe.

Commenting on her new role, Chishty says: "I feel privileged to be leading the talented teams in Britvic Marketing. I’m looking forward to further the company’s mission and building on the incredible marketing plans across the iconic portfolio of brands.”

Matt Barwell, Britvic’s chief marketing officer, adds: "Bringing Munnawar on to the team reflects our commitment to consumer-experience, innovation and world-class marketing for our brands. The transformation we are driving, particularly in the digital marketing space, will benefit hugely from a hire of Munnawar’s calibre.  Without doubt, she will create a culture in which our marketers, agency partners and of course our incredible brands, will thrive."

In her career, Chishty has gained extensive marketing experience, working across FMCG (Gillette, Scottish & Newcastle, J&J & GSK) and retail (Walgreen Boots Alliance) and where she held several senior global strategic and local leadership roles.

She brings with her considerable expertise in commercial, innovation, digital marketing and of developing iconic campaigns – including the award-winning John Smith’s adverts featuring Peter Kay and working with the Spice Girls and Gary Lineker on campaigns for Walkers.

These skills will be invaluable as Britvic continues to deliver against its commercial strategy by investing in its strong portfolio of brands and accessing new growth spaces.
