New all-day brunch venue coming to Cardiff

A brand-new, all-day brunch venue is set to open in Cardiff on Wednesday 17 July.

Launching at the Amber Vista development, Park Side was originally founded by 37-year-old Sophie Pascoe and her mother in 2021. It soon attracted a loyal following for serving coffee and sweet treats at its original Heath Park location.

Based a short walk from Roath Park lake and wild gardens, the new site marks a significant step for the brand, which has recently become part of the Fire and Wine Group of concepts, which also includes Bodega and Ballers Pizza. Park Side (Coffee & Kitchen) in Lakeside will offer laid-back, all-day dining, catering for up to 60 guests indoors and a further 40 on the outdoor heated terrace.

The Park Side experience

The menu (available 9am–4pm Wednesday to Sunday) will focus on brunch classics like avocado, poached eggs and vine tomatoes on sourdough, or smoked salmon with ricotta, capers and soft scrambled eggs on sourdough, and a full veggie, vegan or classic Park Side breakfast.

Stuffed sourdough eggy bread with smoked bacon and cheddar, and buttermilk fried chicken French toast with hot honey will also feature.

Cakes and bakes will be supplied by local independent business, Carrot Top Bakery, with locally roasted coffee also offered, and a longer drinks menu showcasing brunch cocktails, wine by the glass and a rotating selection of beer and larger on draught.

The dog-friendly venue will also remain open from 4pm to 10pm Wednesday to Saturday, offering a concise menu of charcuterie plates and cheese boards.

"We're thrilled to have Park Side joining the line-up of local, independent businesses at Amber Vista; whether you're coming down for a glass of something crafty at State of Love & Trust, popping into Thriv Salon for a freshen up, or thinking of sticking around for a bite to eat and a glass of something at Park Side, Ballers or Bodega, there's really something for everyone in this little corner of Cardiff now," says Sophie.
