Street Food Championships entries now open

The Street Food Championships are returning for another year, inviting the very best chefs from across the street food, fast-casual and restaurant sectors to submit their signature recipes in a chance to win the Street Food Dish of the Year crown.

The Championships, sponsored by Major and Conglom, will provide a one-day extravaganza for the 16 finalists to bowl over an expert judging panel via a live cooking showdown in London.

Competitors will cook off in three competition challenges. The Signature round will allow them the opportunity to showcase their recipe submission that got them into the competition to start with. The Technical round will see them create a dish featuring a selection of sponsored ingredients, and the final round will be a Wings Challenge sponsored by Givaudan (Major).

“We can’t wait to see who enters this year’s Street Food Championships,” says Tamsyn Halm, editor of OOH Magazine, which organises the annual event alongside sister title, Dine Out. 

“The cook-off will be an all-day event at the Big Penny Social in London and will keep chefs on their toes as they go head-to-head against fellow street food vendors. We can’t wait to see how competitors will display their best, inspirational and creative street food dishes for a chance to take home the title of Street Food Dish of the Year.”

Entries close Friday 13 September, with the final taking place on Tuesday 26 November.
