Loungers completes another successful LoungeAid

Lounge café-bars across the UK are celebrating the completion of yet another successful LoungeAid month, raising much-needed funds for local charities.

A highlight in Loungers' community calendar, the fundraising initiative involves lounges across the UK and has, this year, raised a collective £158,839.

Loungers has always tried to support its local communities, encouraging teams at each respective venue to do it their way – from using their spaces to bring people together for events to giving away products in random acts of kindness and raising money for causes that matter.

Examples of fundraising activities across the estate include hosting a Build a Burger Day, car wash, a general manager climbing Snowden and making a cocktail at the summit, children's fun days, gunge the boss, sponsored bike rides, family fetes, sponsored walks and bungee jumps, flash mobs and charity football matches.

Gemma Irwin, head of community for the Lounges, comments: "This year's LoungeAid has been the best ever! We're absolutely delighted to have raised such an amazing amount of money to support charities and causes in the communities we serve.

"We encourage our Lounges to raise money and support good causes, all year round. We choose to support local, rather than national, charities because we want to help tackle the issues which are important to the neighbourhoods where we trade."

LoungeAid was established in 2015, uniting Loungers' teams across the UK in a month-long fundraising initiative. Over £428,352 has been raised to date.
