Regis and Alex Crepy launching two new Amelie eateries

A chef-restaurateur and his business partner son have announced the upcoming expansion of their restaurant brand, Amelie.

Regis and Alex Crepy are launching two new eateries – Amelie Restaurant and Amelie Café & Bakeshop – at Ben's Yard, the independent retail village on the Stuntney Estate in Ely, near Cambridge.

Both venues aim to offer simple, elegant and delicious food throughout the day, whether it's a casual coffee and cake, a takeaway slice of quiche, weekend brunch or a lunchtime plate of croquetas with Big Ben's beef burgers and a glass of rosé, or even a celebratory afternoon tea.

The Restaurant

Collaborating with Regis, chef Rory Landells will lead the kitchen team at the restaurant, delivering a good-value offering of freshly prepared Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Smaller and larger plates will include hispi cabbage with light mustard, tonkatsu sauce, crispy shallots and spring onion; beef cheek braised in Guinness; sea trout with Stuntney Estate potatoes, asparagus, Prosecco, brown shrimp butter and capers; and aubergine with harissa and maple glaze, feta, roasted one tomatoes and toasted pine nuts. Desserts will include lemon tart and a Basque cheesecake, among others.

Nethergate Wines, an independent merchant based in Suffolk, has created a wine list to complement the food. The drinks offer will also include a selection of beer, ale and cocktails.

The Bakeshop

Seated under the floral tree in Amelie Café & Bakeshop, customers can enjoy daily homemade French dishes of salads, sweet and savoury tarts, and Regis's special desserts such as his signature French strawberry tart.

Alex says of the brand's expansion: "We are very excited to have the opportunity to expand Amelie Restaurants in this glorious location – a perfect spot to meet up with friends and family. We're looking forward to extending a warm welcome to everyone and sharing our modern food, as well as introducing our signature Flam-Kuche, the crispy, yeast-free flatbread spread with crème fraîche and a tasty combination of toppings."
