Marco Pierre White restaurant opens in Swansea
Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, the flagship restaurant concept operated by Black and White Hospitality, has opened a 300-cover waterside site in Swansea.
Located in the J-Shed in the SA1 area of the Welsh city, the restaurant is the 25th steakhouse from Black and White, and features a bar and lounge – as well as outside drinking and dining areas that wrap around the entire building.
A private dining area is also available with its own external terrace.
Interiors reflect the property’s industrial heritage, with exposed steel beams, brick work and concrete ceilings.
The opening of the new restaurant follows a deal between business partners Dave Bellis and Steve Lewis (pictured, left and right) who took on the lease of the property, and Black and White Hospitality, which is the franchising arm of the Marco Pierre White restaurants.
“This is fantastic news for Swansea and will be Marco’s second restaurant in Wales. The Steakhouse fits perfectly with The J-Shed and will help to attract more people to enjoy food and drink on Swansea’s burgeoning waterside,” says Nick Taplin (pictured, centre), chairman and CEO of Black and White Hospitality.
“When we signed the deal back in February little did we know that we would be confronted with the Covid-19 pandemic which has hit the hospitality sector particularly hard.
“It therefore makes this opening even more remarkable and, as we approach our 50th venue, I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved to get this new restaurant up and running.”
“We’re absolutely delighted to have someone of Marco’s calibre open one of his restaurants in Swansea,” adds Bellis.
“This is great news for the city and is fantastic news for the regeneration of the area.
“It’s a hugely exciting addition that will, we believe, offer a first-class dining experience and is perfect for this stunning waterside location.”
