Two new London sites confirmed for Bar + Block

Steakhouse chain Bar + Block, owned and operated by Whitbread, has announced plans for further expansion with the launch two new London venues, bringing the brand's portfolio to 20 nationwide – six of which are located in the capital.

Bar + Block Hammersmith will open on Shepherd's Bush Road in mid-February, joining the group's existing sites in King's Cross, Aldgate, Wimbledon and Southwark. The 136-cover restaurant and 44-cover bar, spread over 555 square metres, will be located minutes from Hammersmith station.

Bar + Block Paddington will launch soon after on North Wharf Road in early March. The site will have 140 restaurant covers, including a 16-seater group dining table and 77-cover bar.

Both menus will follow the chain's all-day trading format, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Highlights include 30-day aged steaks, fresh burgers ground on-site, Butcher's Block specials, salads, grills and grazing plates.

Rebecca Donaldson, commercial marketing director at Whitbread, comments: "We are delighted to be starting 2022 with two new Bar + Block openings in London as we continue to grow and develop the brand nationwide. With two key central locations close to transport hubs, we are confident our mix of high-quality, expertly-sourced aged steaks and accessible price point will appeal to locals as well as visitors to the city."

The two new openings follow Bar + Block's latest expansion in Scotland, which saw the opening of its second site in Edinburgh in December. Whitbread already has plans to launch four more sites across the UK later this year.
