Giggling Squid to open first Welsh branch

Thai restaurant group Giggling Squid, co-founded by Pranee and Andy Laurillard, has announced it will be opening its first regional flagship venue in Wales. 

Scheduled to launch later this year, the site will be located in St David's Dewi Sant – Cardiff's biggest shopping centre. The new addition joins recently launched venues in Chelmsford and Welwyn Garden City, bringing the group's estate to over 40 venues. 

The new, 3,066sq ft restaurant will offer 146 covers, bringing the brand's all-day dining concept, including a newly launched breakfast offering and a range of classic Thai curries, stir fries and salads, to Wales for the first time. 

On the new opening, Mr Laurillard comments: "I love Cardiff, it's an amazing place. Great shopping, cool entertainment scene and loads of great restaurants. We are opening a fantastic space on The Hayes for our Welsh debut and are excited to introduce our fresh and flavourful Thai menu to the foodies of Cardiff and St David's visitors."
