Flat Earth Pizzas to open debut restaurant
Following two years of successful pop-ups and residencies, Sarah Brading and Rich Baker – founders of Flat Earth Pizzas – are opening the brand's first permanent restaurant on the fringes of London's Broadway Market this month.
The couple's journey began with a mission to make planet-friendly, meat-free pizzas, creating a business centred on sustainability, where provenance and seasonality take precedence.
The space on Cambridge Heath Road offers 35 covers inside and 16 out, with the restaurant serving an all-day offering of vegetarian and vegan plates.
Menu highlights will include coffee from Climpson & Sons, kimchi shakshuka, granola and fruit compote, and a range of options on toast. Pizzas will also run all day, while seasonal small plates will be available in the evening.
The venue will offer draught beer from The Kernel and 40ft in Dalston, plus other cans and bottles from local breweries that will be changed regularly. Red, white and orange wine will be available on tap or in reusable bottles from sustainable wine solutions. It will have a bottle shop that offers a ‘bottle return’ scheme where diners can pick up a reusable bottle to take home.
On the launch, Brading comments: "After a couple of years on the pop-up scene, we are so excited to be opening our first restaurant. We've pulled together the best suppliers in London to create an ethically-sourced, mouth-watering menu that will run morning-night, six days a week. This is an evolution of our brand – we are more than just pizzas."
