Salisbury's Nole prepares for pizza party series

Salisbury-based pizza restaurant Nole is launching a series of monthly pizza parties, featuring a line-up of special guests as part of a new 'Nole & Friends' programme.

The restaurant, set in Salisbury's market square, will open exclusively one night a month to play host to the special guest collaborations. Diners will be able to order the special guest pizza, along with a range of sides, campari sodas and negroni shots.

The specials will be priced at £15, with £1 from each pizza sold being donated to the Chickpea + Friends charitable fund. The organisation supports two causes: providing assistance to disadvantaged youth in Wiltshire and helping to welcome refugees into the county.

The series begins this month with sausage specialist Owen Barratt, who will take to the ovens on Wednesday 28 with his pizza special topped with fennel sausage, cime di rapa, salsa rossa and pecorino.

Max Halley of Max's Sandwich Shop, along with his fiancé Magali Bellego – who is behind the ethical and sustainable brand Wax Wine – will take the floor in October. Drawing on Bellego's Mexican heritage, the pair will offer two special creations: one with carnitas (pork), tomatillo sauce, mozzarella and pickled onions; as well as a veggie option, the huitlacoche, with bean sauce, mozzarella, edible flowers and sour cream.

November will feature Sol Bakery, an Argentinian-inspired roadside café and bakery in Hindon. The special will be topped with smoked Fonthill venison, caremelised onion and chimichurri mayo.

The restaurant team plan to continue to schedule regular party nights throughout spring and summer next year.

Nole itself has been open since November 2020, developed as a lockdown project. Alongside sourdough pizzas, the venue sells a range of merchandise illustrated by co-founder Tommy Tullis.
