Kitchin Group announces new appointments

The Kitchin Group – owner and operator of restaurants including The Kitchin, The Scran & Scallie, and recently opened KORA by Tom Kitchin, and restaurant with rooms, The Bonnie Badger, in Scotland – has announced a duo of appointments as the business looks to grow and invest in its people.

Renowned hospitality virtuoso, Steven Spear, is the new restaurant manager at The Kitchin, with his predecessor, Matteo Inzaina, stepping into a new role as the group's training and operations manager.

Spear has previously worked in some of Scotland's leading restaurants, having grown up in the family-run venue, The Three Chimneys in Skye.

On the appointment, chef-owner Tom Kitchin, comments: "Steven has been a great appointment for us. With his standard of excellence in the daily running of a restaurant and his passion for teamwork and attention for detail, our guests are already encouraged by a warm welcome from a familiar face in the very best of Scottish hospitality."

Inzaina, who has been manager at Edinburgh's Michelin-starred The Kitchin for more than five years, will remain in the group with his new role. Joining the management team and leading The Kitchin, The Scran & Sacllie, The Bonnie Badger and KORA, he'll work with the teams to develop and direct a group training academy with a focus on front-of-house excellence, teamwork, learning and leadership across all areas of the business.

He brings with him a wealth of expertise in understanding the group's brand and venues, as well as enviable experience gained from classical hospitality training in Italy, roles at leading hotels along the Italian Riviera, and experience gained with The Gordon Ramsay Group and The Lanesborough in London.

Kitchin continues: "We're looking forward to watching Matteo flourish in his new role with us, and we're also really excited about driving forward an even stronger programme of training with our entire team – both in the kitchen and front-of-house.

"Our people are the very heart of our business and we're passionate about offering our employees opportunities to grow and develop with us."
