Hilton London Metropole appoints new GM
Hilton London Metropole has appointed Bill Fisher as its new general manager (GM). He will now head up the largest Hilton outside of the US and one of Europe’s leading conference and events hotels, following its multimillion-pound refurbishment earlier this year.
With an impressive 22 years’ experience, 14 of which were spent working at a number of Hilton hotels worldwide, Fisher brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, where he will head up a team of more than 300 people.
Having worked in hotels across the US, Singapore, China and Thailand, Fisher will apply his operational expertise in several markets to the Hilton London Metropole. He joins at a pinnacle point for the hotel, following the completion of a multimillion-pound refurbishment that has radically transformed and upgraded the guest experience. The 1,100 guestrooms and suites have all been fully re-designed with a contemporary and bold aesthetic that reflects different London boroughs.
The venue’s four restaurants and bars have been relaunched as new drinking and dining concepts, including a neighbourhood restaurant, serving locally sourced ingredients and a new suitably relaxed market-style dining outlet, that celebrates London’s street food scene.
As GM, Fisher will strive to continuously improve hotel operations, with key focus on maintaining the hotel’s high commitment to sustainability.
Fisher says of his appointment: "It’s such an honour to be appointed as GM of Hilton London Metropole. The hotel is a flagship of style, quality and design. I’m incredibly passionate about building on the already positive culture and amazing guest experience and levelling it up to reach our new goals.
"With experience in some of the world’s most dynamic markets, I’m looking forward to bringing this energetic thinking to the London hotel, which already boasts some impressively diverse client relationships."
