Wagamama extends noodle union

Wagamama has announced the extension of the Wagamama noodle union to encourage apprentices to sign up and join.

Last year, The Restaurant Group-owned brand elected its first president, Niko Omilana, to lead the noodle union – a safe and inclusive space where Wagamama connects with university students, offering them fresh and exclusive content, offers, events and more all year round. This year, the campaign goes a step further with a policy designed to open up the noodle union to more people through apprentices.

As part of its wider support to students, the group will be launching ‘student hubs’ in 22 locations across the UK until the 28 March on Monday and Tuesday each week. Each restaurant will have space for 25 students at a time, on a first-come-first-served basis, where they can make use of Wagamama’s hub to study or relac. Each student will be eligible to redeem a free side and drink with the purchase of a main meal, and the first 10 students to arrive each day will receive a student care package filled with exclusive Wagamama merch.

Max Simons-Dukes, senior brand manager at Wagamama, says: "We know the current climate is challenging for young people, which is why we have made the decision to open the virtual doors of the noodle union to now include apprentices too. At Wagamama, we want everyone to feel included, so the noodle union offers a safe and inclusive space where students, apprentices and Wagamama can come together to feel supported, whilst reaping the benefits of giveaways, content and competitions."
