New restaurant opens at revamped Bristol Beacon

A fresh take on modern European cuisine is on the menu at the revamped Bristol Beacon, with its brand-new restaurant Colonnade opening today (5 January).

Located under the Bristol Byzantine arches of Beacon's original foyer, the restaurant is part of the iconic venue's once-in-a-generation transformation.

Bespoke caterer Graysons has worked closely with Bristol Beacon to craft a food and drink offer that sits at the heart of the historic 19th-century concert hall. The relaxed, contemporary restaurant features original chandeliers reclaimed from the 1950s auditorium.

The seasonal all-day menu offers small and large plates cooked by Joshua Bebbington. The restaurant's ethos is sustainable, with plenty of plant-based and low-carbon choices as well as a quality children's menu.

With over 20 years of experience working all over the world, Bebbington has returned to Bristol to take the executive chef position. He is a classically trained chef who has worked at some of the UK's most prominent restaurants, including River Cottage and the Michelin-starred L'Escargot.

Local spirits, beers, ciders and perries are showcased at the restaurant, alongside cocktails, in-house shrubs and ferments, as well as a list featuring natural and classic wines. A selection of homemade snacks and nibbles are also available at the bar.

Colonnade joins two brand-new bars that have launched at the Beacon: the Weston Stage in the atmospheric vaulted cellar; and Simon's Bar, located on the mezzanine above the restaurant.
