Honest Burgers CEO to become chair of the group

Honest Burgers has announced that CEO Thomas Kelly, who was appointed to the role in January, will become chair of the group in September.

Kelly will steer the board through the next phase of the brand's growth while relinquishing his executive operational leadership role to allow him to focus on other opportunities. In the meantime, Matt Brandon, chief financial officer for the group, will become interim CEO.

Honest Burgers was co-founded by friends Tom Barton and Philip Eeles in Brighton in 2009 and now has 39 restaurants nationwide. The business has been experiencing exceptional sales growth of late, with 22 months of consecutive like-for-like growth, delivered through strong growth in like-for-like covers. In the first six months of 2024, sales were up 14%, delivering over 50% improvement in EBITDA performance.
