ASK Italian opens new flagship London site

ASK Italian has opened its new flagship London site in Westfield Stratford.
The venue has been designed by turnerbates Design & Architecture in collaboration with the ASK Italian team, with an ‘al-fresco atmosphere’ evoked by hanging ivy and plants adorning arches overhead.
“We’re delighted to be opening our next new restaurant in the heart of Westfield Stratford City!” says ASK Italian’s managing director Chris Holmes.
“We love the Italian passion for gathering around the table together, and our team is looking forward to welcoming customers in so they can enjoy eating as the Italians do.”
“Our brief was to evolve the design from previous sites to create a modern yet relaxed ‘escape to Italy’ in one of London’s busiest shopping centres,” adds Monica Herdlevaer, associate at turnerbates Design & Architecture.
“The design is inspired by traditional Italian courtyards, which are typical features of Milanese architecture.
“Advantage was taken of the six-metre ceiling height, allowing the turnerbates team to create a large ‘indoor courtyard’ highlighted by a grand arched metal ceiling raft with abundance of greenery and bespoke feature lighting.”
A 10m long bespoke, Milanese-inspired digital artwork takes centre stage, designed by Josephine Hicks.
