The restaurant group has also appointed Alan Clark to the post of chief financial officer, joining the new leadership team.

The group executive team underwent several changes towards the end of 2019 and start of 2020, led by Cook.

Prior to joining TGI Fridays UK, he was CEO UK and a board member at Virgin Active.

A well-known figure and veteran of the UK Hotel sector, Cook is a Master Innholder and a Fellow of the Institute of Hospitality with many years of expertise within the consumer leisure industry.

The new exec team also includes Dan Staples, chief marketing officer; Tom Sycamore, chief operating officer; Suzanne Peacock, people and culture director; Alyson Scott, procurement, supply chain and technical director; and Trevor Peach, operations director.

“I’m very excited to be back in the sector, after four years at Virgin,” says Cook.

“We now have in place a diverse team with a strong set of experience within the hospitality industry, paired with a good understanding of TGI Fridays as a brand.

“Between us there’s a lot to do, but we are looking forward to putting our plans into action and you can expect exciting things from us in 2020.”
